Cote de Pablo, who plays Agent Ziva David on the show, mentioned that Mark has a quality about him that makes everyone comfortable. Even his character emphasizes from the start that they are a team and all are equal. Gibbs doesn’t portray as if he is the team leader; rather he takes extra efforts to prove the contrary, to the point of standing at the end of the lunch queue.
This 58 years old actor, who started his career thirty years ago, realizes that the success of NCIS is really very special for him. Harmon also understands that all the love of his fans brings a greater sense of responsibility on him, because now he has to ensure that he gives nothing but his best to his loyalists.
There have been rumors that Harmon might be asked to leave the show, but he has trashed all of them. He said that he has a contract with the network and has a long time left on it. And anyway, when the show and his character are being so well appreciated, why would he want to leave it?
