I am sure you must have understood that the one person I am talking about is veteran actor David McCallum, who has portrayed the character of Dr. Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard on our much loved show, N.C.I.S. I am not sure as to how many of you are aware of the fact that in the 1960’s David got enormous fame for portraying the role of Illya Kuryakin in the series The Man from U.N.C.L.E. It was during this very show that he met Joe Sirola, who was seen as a guest star in many episodes of the series. And now, more than four decades after the show stopped airing, the two co-actors met at a party.

Joe, who has had a remarkable career as an actor, is also known for throwing a party annually to celebrate the flowering of his rose garden. The rose garden is situated in his penthouse garden, close to Central Park in New York.  Now that is some reason to celebrate, isn’t it guys! Well, getting back to our topic, this year, Joe also invited his old TV nemesis, David McCallum.

Now when somebody is invited to a party organized to celebrate something as beautiful as the blossoming of new roses, I suppose it is difficult to turn down the invitation. So, when David McCallum made a surprise appearance at this year’s party, he not only made heads turn but also caused a stir amongst many middle-aged women, present on the occasion.

Accompanied, by his lovely wife, Katherine, David created a bit of a commotion as a crowd gathered around him upon his arrival to Joe’s party. Even though he is 76 years old, this versatile actor looked as if he had discovered some secret to eternal youth. David, who is known for his dislike of the party scene, reportedly said that came because he could not refuse to accept Joe Sirola’s invitation. And as the two veterans posed for a re-union shot, one could not help but appreciate the talent and versatility they possess.
